The Friendly Folks of Nassau County Florida

Belles River at Pirate's Point in YuleeMy web publisher and I took a drive into rural Fernandina Beach and Yulee, FL to take pictures of land and homes I had recently listed for sale.  At the first stop a neighbor from across the street came out and introduced himself and told us all about the lot I had listed and the surrounding neighborhood.  This information can be very valuable when marketing the property.

Only one minute away and we were at the deep water boat ramp on a branch of the Nassau River.  The morning sun was glistening across the beautiful salt water marshes and water.  We could even see Jacksonville in the distance.  What a great picture to portray the nature, beauty, and diversity of the area.  It was not long until a father and son drove up in their pickup pulling a fishing boat.  How refreshing to see the joy on their faces as they launched their boat for a day of fun and fishing on the water.

Minutes away we pulled into the Goffinsville Park.  Here we took video and photos of the new play area and boat ramp and the fantastic views of the marsh, river, and Amelia Island in the distance.  Two families were launching their boat for a relaxing day of sunning and skiing on the river.  They had a picnic basket, and the kids could not wait to get on the boat.  Another family was playing with their son at the play area.  Soon a gentleman with his nephew came by and introduced himself and talked with us about his desire to become a professional photographer.  He has launched his dream by taking pictures of people, mainly his family, and has a deep desire to expand his hobby into a business. As my web publisher is sideways involved in a motion picture currently filmed in the Amelia Island area, titled “The Diary of Preston Plummer”, he invited him to come and witness an actual taping.

Then we were off to Pirates Bay and the Belles River.  At the new dock we found a boy fishing and a girl reading a book.  We also visited with a home owner on the river who enjoys taking pictures up and down the river and across to Cumberland Island.  Each river front home had a dock and a boat, and the wildlife and scenery in this area was breathtaking.

Take a break and explore the rural areas of Nassau county.  You will be amazed by the beauty of the different areas and how the countryside interacts with the surrounding rivers and marshes and most of all you will meet new friends.
