Old Town Fernandina is Gaining Attraction

Sunset over the Amelia River

Join the Old Town Fernandina Beach, FL Bi-Centennial Celebration on April 2, 2011.
Just a few short years ago, 1811, to be exact, the Timucan Indians roamed the Northern end of Amelia Island along the Amelia River, now known as Old Town Fernandina.  The Spanish and the English soon realized the importance of a direct shipping lane from Spain to this area. [Read more...]

The Whole World Wants to Live Near the Water

People living in the heartland of any country have an outspoken desire to one day move to the waterfront. With worldwide confidence in the economy and real estate markets still pretty much down, it’s no surprise that investors – yes there are still people who don’t live from paycheck to pay check – are looking for safe, long term investments at the moment. But if not gold, silver or in-demand commodities, what makes for a “safe” real estate investment? Do they exist at all anymore?

Sure they do! [Read more...]

The EABC came to visit

European American Business Club came to visitNassau County’s European American Business Club came to visit our new offices in town last month for its get together. The International Networking Social Club, which is celebrating its first anniversary this month grew to well over 100 members in that short period of time.

I had the pleasure of doing a presentation during one of the recent meetings which change in venue every month. The meeting at our office was followed by a beautiful island tour on the new Trolley Service that took us to see the Christmas lights at the Omni Amelia Plantation, the Ritz Carlton and all the beautiful scenery along the way.

In Real Estate Marketing it is all about getting eye balls and attention for your home, pulling focus away from the thousands of other homes on the market. If we could do it with Christmas decorations, my vote would go to John Rothwell once again, on the corner of 14th and Diane in Fernandina Beach. (see the video)

The amount of work this man puts into decorating for the season each year is amazing, but as a result has many people come from near and far every year. If he ever needs or wants to sell his house, he’d only have to market it as the Christmas House and everyone will instantly be able to picture it, away from all the competition.

Something to think about.

Wednesday, January 19th, the EABC – European American Business Club will celebrate its One Year Anniversary.

A Usual Summer Week on Amelia Island

Southern Tailgate BBQ Cook OutI have been a bit quiet on the website in the past few weeks. Don’t let that deceive you into thinking it is quiet on the island. Far from that. The following essay gives a glimpse of just one week of activities and events here on Amelia Island in the summer. So if you ask yourself “Why would I want to move to Amelia Island, Fl”, let me share with you last week’s adventures.

It started as any ‘normal’ Sunday (my week runs from Sunday through Saturday) – cooking breakfast; off to church and eating lunch out [Read more...]

Adding a Patio to your Home

Adding A Patio to your home will raise value and functionalityMany homeowners are finding ways to make their homes more beautiful such as adding rooms, landscaping, adding extra bathrooms among others. These additions do not only make the home more attractive, but also boosts the market value of the property especially if the homeowner has plans of reselling the home in the end.

A nice home addition is a patio. A patio is an area outside the house that may be used as either an outside dining room or an extra place for entertainment activities. A paved structure connects the extra space to the house and is a good investment as a home addition. It is a place where you can unwind, enjoy or spend a quiet time alone. [Read more...]
